Handicap |
Originality
The purpose of the handicap is to encourage originality in certain specific areas but at the same time to allow riders to make individual choices in making
limited changes in other areas but at the expense of carrying a points penalty.
Overall :
No change to rider points in 350 and 500
Old GP Scoring system of 15 points (1st), 12 points (2nd),
10 (3rd), 9 (4th), 8 (5th),
and so down to 1 point for 12th place.
Machine Points:
No machine properly eligible for 2009 will be banned in 2010 as there are no changes to the eligibility rules
BUT eligible machines will have their handicap re-assessed for 2010 according to the table below.
The prescribed number of points will be added / deducted from the riders points score for each race.
The guiding principles have been :
- Must be easy to implement, monitor, check and enforce.
- Faithful replica parts have the same status as original fitments.
- The handicap system should be viewed as further reinforcement of the main aims of the Series.
